Who We Are

Creative Nerve was founded by Camille Utterback to develop commercial projects commissioned as a result of her art practice. Creative Nerve creates robust, engaging, interactive installations for corporate, retail and museum environments.

Camille Utterback is the owner and founder of Creative Nerve. Utterback is the co-inventor of a U.S. patent filed by New York University for video tracking technology Utterback developed there as an Interval Research Fellow (1998-2000). Her ground-breaking interactive video installations have been exhibited at museums, galleries and festivals in the US, Japan, Hong Kong, Korea, Taiwan, Germany, Denmark, Poland, Austria, the Netherlands, and the Ukraine. Utterback's honors and awards include a Rockefeller Foundation New Media Fellowship (2002), MIT Technology Review's TR100 - 'the top 100 innovators of the year under 35' (2002), Communication Arts Design Annual's Award of Excellence for Environmental Graphics (2001), Res Magazine's artist pick of the year for their Annual Res 10 - 'Ten people who are making a difference in their field' (2000), and The OLB Media Art prize at the European Media Art Festival (2000). Utterback holds a BA in Art from Williams College, and a Masters degree from The Interactive Telecommunications Program at NYU's Tisch School of the Arts. Utterback also teaches as an adjunct professor at the Interactive Telecommunications Program at NYU, and at the Masters of Fine Arts in Design and Technology Program at Parsons School of Design.
